Xalapa, Ver.- Mr. José Antonio Mansur Beltran, deputy President
of the Public trust fund for investment and administration for the
development of infrastructure and sport equipment in the state of
Veracruz , on account of the Centro American and Caribbean Games in
Veracruz 2014 , expressed that COVER 2014 is doing well and has
been progressing, clearly they work in a part that can't be seen at
first sight, but the objective is to leave a great legacy in sport
facilities.
First of all, Mansur Beltrán said "We are good, we are
progressing, we are working on a part that can't be seen at first
sight but it is the part that give us all the support and all the
assistance we need to carry out the greatest games, of high
standards, and most of all an important subject that is the
infrastructure."
He indicated "We want to present to the Governor, Mr. Javier
Duarte de Ochoa, different options. The company HKS has given us
different preliminary studies of some facilities of the sports
centers located in the port of Veracruz and Xalapa."
He continued "But as part of this trust fund, mi obligation is
to present the trust fund to the Governor, including all the
options we have to develop in areas of Xalapa and Veracruz, options
to go beyond, to leave a legacy, to do things of higher levels, to
do things well, with an order and an example, like the things the
Governor has shown us during his first six months of
administration.
In the matter of the different headquarters he pointed out ,"
There are some proposals, I have heard the director of the
Committee , Mr. David Velazco Chedrahui, declare that they would
only be Xalapa and Veracruz, the decision will be taken later by
the Governor, I understand that we must consider the investment
that has been made in some cities, it is understood that viable
proposals have to be presented to the International Committees
according to what is best for the games, those are aspects that the
Governor will have to dictate and there must be a wide range of
options.
In relation to possible locations for new facilities and
development of the Centro American Villas, he expressed " It has
been contemplated by the Committee, and according to David Velasco,
the company HKS has designed some buildings, athletic courses, and
some courts and fields that we need for the games. But those are
merely options, that are being analyzed along with HKS, we have to
take advantage of the example given by Guadalajara, they are doing
things right, we have to take them as an example and exceed the
expectations of many, Veracruz and Xalapa have a need for growth,
we can use this opportunity to continue urban development so it is
well planned and put together for the future.
He said it was important that time limits don't beat Cover 2014
" We should be attending some topics by now, but is better to walk
than to run, because this time is critic for any good organization,
this are the foundations of a building. I think we have some
delays but we are not exactly late so far, on the contrary, this
part where we can't see anything, where there are no news, that
nothing has been defined, is the part that is going to make the
games in Veracruz valuable in general, of infrastructure, with
historic legacy, so valuable that they will become an international
example and that we can place Veracruz 2014 as the greatest games
that have been taken place".
Finally, Mansur Beltran stated " Tell all the people in Veracruz
to trust in this organization, they will be proud of having
Veracruz hosting this international event. With the instruction of
the Governor and the decisions he has to make, all the citizens
will have a big event ".
