
The Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization will host its XLI Ordinary Assembly in the Mexican city of Veracruz from January 28 through 31, 2009. This Assembly will see the delegates from all of CACSO's 32 member countries. The main topic will be the confirmation of the site for the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games (Veracruz 2014), in which the City of Veracruz will be presented as the only candidate.
Mr. Héctor Cardona, CACSO's president, informed us that the Organizing Committee for Mayagüez 2010 will do an important presentation regarding the advances of its organizational responsibilities and the development of the infrastructure. The CACSO delegates will also have the opportunity to visit the sports installations in the City of Veracruz. Cardona indicated that the Assembly will have the honor of welcoming, as CACSO's special guests, Mr. Mario Vázquez Rana, ODEPA president, Mr. Fidel Herrera Beltrán, governor of the State of Veracruz, and Carlos Hermosillo, Sq., Mexico's Sports Director.
Then we have CACSO's Technical and Medical Commissions, next to a group of representatives from the Mayagüez 2010 Organizing Committee visiting the City of Guadalajara, which is a Sub Venue for Mayagüez 2010. The following sports will be held in Veracruz: Rowing, Skating, Squash, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Modern Pentathlon and Aquatic Skiing.
